Terms of Use

These Terms of Use (the “Terms”) govern your use of SRT Translator (the “App”), a macOS application provided by the SRT Translator team (“we”, “our”, or “us”). By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. By using the App, you represent that you meet this requirement and that you have the legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

2. License

Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the App on Apple-branded devices that you own or control, in accordance with the Apple Media Services Terms and Conditions and the standard Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement (the “Apple EULA”). To the extent these Terms conflict with the Apple EULA, these Terms control with respect to your use of the App, except where required otherwise by Apple.

3. Subscriptions & Payments

The App offers free and paid features. Free users receive a limited number of complimentary translations (currently ten). Paid features (“Pro”) are available through auto-renewing subscriptions on a weekly, monthly, or yearly basis.

Billing. All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple ID. Prices are displayed in the App and may vary by region.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your Apple ID account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
Managing & cancelling. You can manage or cancel your subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions on your Apple device. Cancelling stops future renewals; access to Pro features remains until the end of the current paid period.
Refunds. Refunds, where applicable, are handled exclusively by Apple in accordance with their refund policy. We do not process refunds directly.

4. AI Translation Services

The App uses third-party AI translation services to convert subtitle text between languages. Translations are generated automatically and may contain inaccuracies, omissions, or errors. The App is provided as a productivity tool, not as a substitute for professional translation or proofreading. You are solely responsible for reviewing and validating translations before any commercial, public, or mission-critical use.

5. Your Content

You retain all rights to the subtitle files, text, and other content you import into the App (“Your Content”). You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to use, translate, and export Your Content.

You grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process Your Content solely as necessary to provide translation services through our AI provider. We do not store Your Content on our servers beyond what is required to fulfill a translation request.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose or to translate content that infringes third-party rights, including copyright, trademark, or privacy rights.
Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the App, except as permitted by applicable law.
Resell, sublicense, rent, or commercially exploit the App or its AI translation services as a stand-alone offering.
Use the App to generate translations of hate speech, illegal content, or material that violates Apple's App Store Review Guidelines.
Attempt to bypass usage limits, subscription gating, or other technical protections in the App.

7. Intellectual Property

The App, including its design, code, logos, and original content, is owned by us and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our trademarks or branding without prior written permission.

8. Third-Party Services

The App relies on third-party services, including Apple App Store / StoreKit (payments), RevenueCat (subscription management), and an AI translation provider. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or behavior of third-party services.

9. Disclaimers

THE APP IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, AND ACCURACY OF TRANSLATIONS. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE APP WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, IN NO EVENT WILL WE BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUE, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE APP, EVEN IF WE HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING UNDER THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID FOR THE APP IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of your use of the App, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

12. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the App at any time, without prior notice, if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users, third parties, or our business. Upon termination, your license to use the App ends immediately. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated version will be posted on this page with a new “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated within the App or via the App Store listing. Your continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Apple-Specific Terms

These Terms are concluded between you and us, not with Apple. Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support services for the App.
In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App.
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and, upon your acceptance of these Terms, will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which we operate, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the App will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction, except where mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence provide otherwise.
